You may apply for a Tourist Visa if:

• You hold a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining validity.

• Your purpose of travel is tourism, family visits, cultural events, or business meetings without pay.

• You can prove that you have enough funds to cover your expenses during your stay.

• You have a return ticket or onward travel plan.

Note: Travelers from certain countries do not need a tourist visa. In addition, if you hold a valid visa or permanent residence card from the U.S., Canada, UK, Japan, or Schengen countries, you are often exempt from applying for a Mexican Tourist Visa.

The processing period varies depending on the consulate:

• On average, 2 to 10 business days after submitting all documents and attending an appointment.

• Timelines may be longer during busy travel seasons or if extra verification is needed.

Typical Documents Required:

• Valid passport (with at least 6 months validity).

• Completed visa application form.

• Passport-size photo.

• Proof of financial means (bank statements, income proof).

• Round-trip flight itinerary.

• Hotel reservation or invitation letter from a host in Mexico.
